Sludge killed my K04's...
Here is the email from Jacob from Buehn. WTF, I am at a loss of what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Unfortinatly I changed the oil just before the car went in to the shop so I don't have the contaminated oil to send in.

Elijah,
I had a chance to tear apart the K04's and here is what I found. Before
tearing them apart, I noticed that they have way too much shaft play which
is why there were leaking oil. After tearing them apart, the shaft play was
from oil contamination that caused the bearings to wear out. Inside the
bearing housings there is actually like a black sludge throughout in both
turbos. I can get some pics if you need, but we need to figure out where it
came from and fix the problem before then new turbos are put on. Do you
have any of the oil left over from when the K04's were removed? It would be
a good idea to get that oil to Blackstone for analysis.
Thanks-

what oil did you use?
the oil that is in the car now how many miles did you put on it?
if you drove 100 miles or more on that oil with the k04s that went bad should be ok to get some idea what is going on, also call blackstone see what they have to say.

Where did you get these turbos from? Are they OEM K04's from BW?
sludge in the bearing housings can be a product of the bearings being sloppy too. If the bearings are too tight or too loose, the shaft temperature will go way up and sludge the oil up quick.
