So after installing a USB driver for my cheapie USB VAG-COM cable off eBay, I did
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/84528/sportec_vag.jpg"></center><p>a quick scan on my car and to my surprise, VAG-COM tells me that I have a Sportec chip installed.
Do other chips (MTM, APR, GIAC, etc) do this as well? Just wondering. Seems awfully easy for a dealer to find out. Of course I swap my ECU out when doing warranty work - haven't had problems doing that in the past 2+ years.
