So anyone got ideas on whats causing this CEL to keep coming back?
Codes are:
17584 Bank1: O2 (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst: Control Limit Reached P1176-35-00
17585 Bank2: O2 (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst: Control Limit Reached P1177-35-00
Background is that I got 3 new O2 sensors put in at the beginning of July (front driver only one still original). Codes went away.
Did an open track day on July 4th. Temps were very warm (probably 100F ambient), oil got over 275F (quickly stopped driving hard and did cooldowns at that point, need an oil cooler) and coolant got past 1 tick right of center.
On July 5th, got a CEL with those codes. No other codes were found in the ECU.
Clear the codes and they come back after roughly 50 miles of driving.
Car mods are: suspension. Thats it. Was using regular 91 craptane pump gas. No chip, no piggies, nothing.
So what would cause this code after roughly 85 miles on the track? My two hunches are either high exhaust gas temps nuking the O2 sensors. Or the cats are going bad. Problem is, those two problems have their own codes they should throw (EGT sensors or Cat efficiency codes).
Any ideas? Seriously need some help here.

I dunno. The O2 sensors were (well supposedly) brand new. Worked fine (no CEL) for 3 weeks.
1 day at the track and they then throw a CEL? And even though I clear the codes, it keeps coming back. Almost every time within 50 miles.

The problem with that idea is wouldn't the EGT sensors throw something if the gasses were so hot as
to be able to nuke an O2 sensor?
I agree the idea sounds plausible, just still has its own issues.

did you read my post below?
The O2's are fine. The two O2 sensors after the cats are just each in the wrong holes. When he says swap, he means put the right one in the left hole, and the left one in the right hole.
