...right afer I said "don't forget my car is in the driveway". She felt terrible and I went on with the process of getting the side fixed. I drove my car to a shop in NoVa without any dashlights on - no CEL and I finally had corrected the AirBag light as well. I picked up the car and both are on.

My questions -
1) Does anyone in Northern Virginia or Bethesda MD have a VagCom so I can quickly pull the codes before the shop is done with my wife's car?
2) Any creative ideas about what might have happened? (I imagine banging on the door caused the airbag code but am at a loss for the CEL - paint fumes, someone took it for a real hard joy ride, pure coincidence
3) UNRELATED - Does anyone have an extra stock Avus 17" for a 2001? One of mine cracked and the cost for reparing it is insane
