I'm running an M3, but I was always unhappy with stock S4 brakes on the track, even with SS lines,..
Motul and race pads. I eventually switched to a BB kit and that solved my problems. If you do plan on running the stock set up you need to get some Motul or similar high temp brake fluid and a good set of race pads.

I'm thinking about going and I have money toburn to modd out my S4 but I'm new at this...
I've worked on engines for a few years now but this is the first time I've encountered turbos. I know next to nothing about them. I wanted to get a full exhaust and intake but I don't understand the whole concept of backpressure in the exhaust. I've always gon with the "bigger is better" theory on V8's and naturally aspirated engines. If I were to get the absolute best intake, exhaust, and brakes, what should I look for?? Is custom better or is tested manufactured products the best way to go?

Brake pads might be all a stock S4 needs, there's only two really hard braking zones and they're
spaced out, so even then the brakes might be optional. I had my dad's totally stock A4 at Mid-Ohio last weekend, all I did was cruise gently down the straights at about 65, keeping the stock brakes nice and cool. I wasn't running the fastest lap times, but so what if I didn't hit 120 down the straights? The corners are where the fun is and a stock car (especially an S4) is more than adequate there.
If you want to go, sign up, flush and fill the oil and brake fluid before you go and you'll have a great time.

You'll be OK if you don't try to go too fast and brake too deep.
Baby the brakes after the two fast straightaways, and you'll be OK. Swapping fluid and bringing a spare set of pads might be wise, though.
