Default something i don't remember about my car....

upon shut down (taking key out)...how long do you guys here sounds (like a fan, and a belt of some sort slowing down and then stopping, also some fluid sounds like its settling somewhere)? i don't seem to remember having any sounds...but maybe my memory is flawed...it was in the shop for over 3 months...and i only had it for 4.5 months before that...any input would be appreciated..

Default Liquid flowing is the coolant after-run pump...

keeping the heat in the turbo bearings under control. If Audi hadn't put in this fine feature, we'd need turbo timers. I don't know how long this goes on, but I hear it as I walk away from the car.

Default You only had the car when it was cold out...

When it runs up to full temp, the fan will run for up to several minutes after you shut down. Glad you finally got ure car back - how is it running?...I was the guy who tried to get up to Fairfield and look at it for you. Unfortunately they are no longer my dealer.

Default Thanks for the input guys...i figured it was normal as it makes sense that

all those systems would have to run a bit, and i also digured it was more than one thing like you guys are saying, as the sounds are independent of each other.

Eric,
I remember you extended many offers of hospitality during that time. even though it didn't work out timing-wise it was good to know I had an AWer willing to help.
