Sorry Jim. That price seems low...
The air bags should be over $1000 themselves. Unless the prices have come down recently. I had a similar hit in a '90 Subaru Legacy. $7500, no airbags. What was nice was the shop that did the repair had a computer that scanned the paint and told them how to mix it to match perfectly with the 5yr old paint.
If they do total it you may want to inquire as to what price you could buy the car from the insurance company. You could either keep it for parts or have it put back together and use it as a track car or extra car for winter driving.
If its totalled it most likely go to auction, be rebuilt, get an R-Title (unless someone shady reworks the title) and resold.
