Default ? for Stage III guys, once tuned...can u just jump in and drive or do u have to keep tinkering?

I've had a couple Audis and have been trolling this forum to get up to speed on the stage III stuff. I've STFA and it seems there's a lot of tuning/tinkering with them. I used to have a fuel injected '66 Mustang fastback that at first I thought was kewl to tune with a laptop...but it got old after a while cause I just wanted to get in and drive. Anyhow, had sold my B6 S4 a while back and am missing having a performance car. So been thinking of a built bi-turbo.

The goal is something that's a reliable driver, good for track events, and able to able to open a can of whoop *ss when needed...but not at the cost of having to always log it and fine tune it.

I'm in SoCal but have been tempted to touch base with the guy in GA who has one for sale...but my other concern is it being smog legal.

TIA for the input.

T.

Default You can do plug and play or home brew. I think the impression people get with home brew is that...

You're constantly tinkering. Some do, but some do not.

You can simply get your car to a safe level and leave it there.

I haven't made a Lemmi change with my home brew in a few months.

Default hybrids...any form of k04's that are tweaked and not out of the box, will require more..

needs then stage 3 kits with just straight K04's..such as AWE or APR kits

Plug and play. Though many people choose to play to get more performance.

The white one in GA is VERY nice. Off the shelf awe kit with intercoolers. No need for tweaking.

Default Looking for an Avant again?

We met briefly at a GTG in Brea one night...I had the red Avant. Good to hear you're defecting to the dark side ;-) What does a used B6 S4 Avant go for these days??
