STFA and still not completely sure
can I put 235/45/17's on 17X8 wheels 35 offset stock suspension? I kind of like the idea of a wider footprint and maybe fill up the wheel well a bit without lowering (daily driver). TIA

May be close to rubbing on the suspension upright depending on the tire brand, but the extra wheel
offset should help enough to keep it from hitting.
I've run a 235/45/17 Dunlop SP5000 on a stock 17x7.5et45 rim, and it was very close. Currently I'm running 245/40/17 on a 17x8.5et35 and it clears the upright.

Oh, here's a wheel/tire calc that may help you a little
measure your current inner clearance, put in your current setup, and see how the new setup would change the spacing.
