Stupid Valve Cover Gasket Question?
Hey all,
It's been quite a while since I've posted here but I have run into an odd problem that only the gurus here can solve! I am in the process of changing the drivers side valve cover gasket on my 2001.5 using a kit I got from Blauparts. When I finally got the cover off and the area cleaned I found that the new gasket is too big around the back side of the valve cover. It won't seat itself into the groove no matter what I do!
My question here is drivers side valve cover a different size than the passengers? Or did Blauparts screw up and give me the wrong size even though the packaging clearly says it's for the 30 valve v6 motor? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

thats how the new ones fit...its normal, it will compress in nicely when you set the
valve cover on it, just be sure to use some gasket sealant on all 4 corners and in the valley, you can even put some in that back edge where it is a sloppy fit. I had the same problem with my new gaskets. They compress in nicely when you put the VC back on and torque it down.
