SUCESS!!! Got all 9 pieces of trim off and will start painting tomorrow!!!

Also, I will be doing a complete write-up on removing and painting the trim. Over the years of using AW DIY write-up's, while they are 90% helpful/accurate, they are always missing a crucial bolt/tip/step.

But the Godfather's write-up was great!!!

Did we need another thread for this?

GREAT SUCCESS!

Wow, do you really need to be such a prick?

Thanks and congrats. Good luck with the painting.

Jay, if you don't mind, I'd like to send you some tips and a few misc. bolts that weren't in

the write-up that would help out others like myself that haven't done this before. I also think the tips would save people (like myself) from frantically posting in the middle of the job b/c they are stuck/very frusturated

You can post it right here

Weird. I see at least 2 posts below from you in which you contributed absolutely nothing.

Way to pad your post count.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2875123.phtml</a

Great (inside)

First, there is a fourth bolt for the driver's side lower dash dis-assembly, don't think it was mentioned in the write-up, but it makes getting to the farthest left clip on the long piece of trim a easy.

I didn't have great sucess w/ the "pry tool" for that center clip on the long dash trim piece. Instead, I got 2 pieces of CAT 5 cable, fed it on both sides right next to where the clip is and pulled w/ even pressure on both cables......popped the piece right off.

My hazard/cup holder piece was impossible to get to w/ anything.....I ended up using a paint can opener, lightly tapped it into the top corner and worked around the outside.

Instead of using a flathead and needle nose pliers to get those damned clips off, I ended up using various needle pick and hook screw drivers shown below. It was very easy to get the clips off w/ these, as you simply hook it and pull.

Thats all I got

WMi_S4 12-07-2008 07:09 PM

WOW, you have a firm grasp of the obvious

Yea, b/c I was right in the middle of this and having trouble w/ the clips and was hoping for HELP from someone..

Instead, I get prick's like you and Alex giving me ****, whatever happened to the helpful and friendly AW that I joined two years ago?? Now its plagued w/ sarcastic, haughty S4 owners who only give respect to someone that has a well sorted Stage 3 car or someone that has been on the boards for years......fvcked up

Way to be nice and helpful!!......douche.....
