Survey Opinion Poll - Glass Cleaner, both Tinted and Untinted windows...
I have been noticing lately how hard it is to get my windows crystal clear without streaks, no matter whether I use Windex, Glass Plus, etc. Read that it could be the color or dies/perfumes in the cleaners, and will start to look for something without color. What do people use. I have seen that One Grand and Wurth make glass cleaner (would try it) however, both say they are not to be used on aftermarket tinted windows. I just got my first two cans of Plexus (can not wait to try it when I get home tonight) and the instructions say works on tinted windows. What do people use? Are your windows tinted or not. I have always used Ammonia based products like Windex on my tinted windows, and have never had a problem, although if I hurt the luster of the tint, it would have happened over time and I probably would not have noticed. Your feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I use Griots window cleaner for the non tint side of windows...
For tint you are best off using a silicone based cleaner. Ammonia eventually breaks down the adhesive of the tint. The silicone products also lubricate the tint, which keeps the windows from sticking and scratching the tint.
I've never had any problems with the Griots stuff.

Tinted windows don't like ammonia....
I have the green windex--uses vinegar instead. It doesn't do a great job. There are some aerosol cleaners which probably work better. Let us know how the plexus works--and if it has ammonia.

Which stuff? I got the tint cleaner from the place that did my
tinting. It's called Solar Guard or something like that. Does a nice job. The Griots stuff comes, obviously, from Griots.

Plexus is a plastic polish, that removes/hides scratches. Someone posted it here about two weeks
ago. Figured I'd give it a try. Supposedly it removes/hides those scratches we all hate on the instrument cluster, and the headlight and tail light lenses. Also is good for polishing the wood. It was invented for aircraft canopies and windscreens. It says that it has no abrasives, alcohol or ammonia. It also says good for tinted window film.
