Suspension Question

Suspension Question
What suspension would you suggest if you wanted to give a stock '01.5 S4 a little lower stance and improved ride control BUT did not want to compromise the comfort that much. I have a 993 C4S with Bilstein PSS9s and even at the softest setting it's too harsh for the very bad roads I normally drive on. After that experience I'm nervous about overly compromising the ride quality.
This car is a daily driver. I was thinking Stasis with 500/600 but I'm not sure. How about simply adding springs - the APR Roll COntrol Springs maybe? I hate an underdamped ride so the "springs only" idea might not work for me.
Anyone have any experience with these setups or other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I just purchased the Neuspeed/Bilstein set up and woould recommend that . . .
Lowers the car about 1.25 inches and provides a nice controlled ride, more aggressive than stock, but not harsh at all. I got mine from Autosport Wholesale for under $700 shipped.

KW V2
Coilovers with adjustable rebound will ride better than stock and can be as damped as you like.
Need to drill holes in the front suspension tower cross strut and drill slots in the rear shock housing holder. Then you can get to the rebound adjustment spindles without dismantling

From what I have read the Stasis Street Sports or HR Streets are you best bet...
I think they are valved a little lower than 500/600. I'd definately go with a coilover set so you can adjust the height to your specs since you sound picky like myself. Otherwise you'll be stuck at whatever they settle at...
I've had spring/struct combos on cars that don't end up settling at the documented heights.
I'm surprised to hear about your PSS9. I rode in a GTI with PSS9's a while back and it was surprisingly comfortable even on bad roads. I like the fact you can adjust them as well. I was thinking about going with these for the S4 once a few more people try them out but after your experience I may have to wait until I get a ride in one
Good Luck

The PSS9s are not that harsh but the Porsche is a very stiff car to begin with plus I have a bunch of other go fast goodies that all contribute to the ride.
The roads I drive on are truly horrible - all over brooklyn, Queens the Bronx and Manhattan - it's not a pretty picture.
I just want to make sure the S4 doesn't get tiring to drive. My E55 is perfect but it has a cockpit adjustable air suspension which isn't a fair comparison to a standrad spring/shock setup.

For fixed height, Vogtland
Vogtland Club Spec springs matched with the KONI sport adjustables makes a great fixed height setup. It's about a .75" drop from stock, and a very sporty and comfortable setup. Spring rates of 400/360 make a good balance, and still keep the car comfortable for daily driving. The shocks are excellent for the rough roads, and really keep the car comfortable for daily driving.
