Symphony vs. Bose - Is it really better?
I guess I'm pretty extreme when it comes to car audio...they both sound pretty stock to me. I guess the Bose has a bit more bass to it. Correct me if I'm wrong, the difference is the Bose uses bass reflex boxes, adds speakers in the passenger doors, and employs an amplifier. Well, all the stocker junk is coming right out for me and there will be 4 12's in the back to boost... Just have to figure out how I'll mount the mids for the front seperates...probably will have to build custom kickpanels.
Rob Wong

If you are gonna rip it, forget it...
Don't waste money on Bose if you are gonna rip it out anyway... You may want to consider getting a 1.8T since you plan on degradating the performance of the S4 by hauling hundreds of pounds of audio equipment around town. :P
If you are gonna rip it out anyway... save your cash...

Bose has no bass reflex.
They play accoustic tricks to make it sound like there's more bass than there really is.
Only advantage to Bose is when you rip it out, all the wiring is centralized in the trunk, the phone/NAV have a seperate (instead of shared, dual voice coil) speaker, and there are speakers in the rear doors.
If none of these are a consideration to you, don't get the Bose!
Jim De Arras
