Default Taking a road trip in the S4, recommendations of any JIC parts to bring?

Planning on driving from IL to NY next weekend. Should be about 2,000 miles or so round trip. I plan on doing all the routine maintenance (oil, filters, check hoses) but was wondering what you guys think may be good to have it the car with me. I know some people say they keep a spare TBB with them at all times?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

Default at least a Q of oil, and some PS fluid

personally, I'd probably bring my "track box" which has everything (oil, PS fluid, coolant, brake fluid, tools (including an impact wrench for wheels ;-))... and a real jack, instead of the flimsy stock one.

One reason to bring PS and coolant is they are "nonstandard", and you might not be able to find the appropriate types at the local car shop (or the AAA guy).

Yeah, probably overkill, but *shrug*

Default Take Vagcom software/laptop/pda to troubleshoot any errors that pop up

-Spare Tire & Jack (sounds dumb but I get in the habit of leaving it out for short trips around town)
-spare quart of oil
-distilled water
-fire Extinguisher
-vacuum hose splice fitting
-Trunk Monkey

Default i have traveled in my s three times or more cross country, besides

loving every second of it, the only problem i encountered was in TN. crazy down pour must of washed something out on to the highway and had a blow out. people behind me hit the samething, so take a rain jacket, bc it's not a lot of fun changing tires in the rain. all in all, it is a blast to travel cross country in such a fine car.
