Are there any early warning signs to look for saying that your clutch is gonna go?

Default You might be able to feel a vibration in the clutch pedal when engaging/disengaging.

You might also be able to hear something during that time, too.

Default Your post is going to cause a lot of paranoia. I can just picture n00bs now...

feeling the slightest vibration or hearing the slightest noise and thinking their clutch is going. Congratulations :P

Default I replaced my stocker last week. I fried it. Here's what I noticed...

Over the last several thousand miles the engagement point was much higher in the clutch pedal travel - almost at the top. Also, when starting in first gear (especially on an incline) the car would shudder very slightly but enough that I could notice. Finally, when it was toast, the rpms would rise while the car would not accelerate. At that point, time for a new clutch.

Now that I got a fresh clutch (stock) and flywheel in, the engagement point is WAY lower - almost near the floor. It's a very quick engagement and no shuttering. It's going to take some getting used to again.

Default LOL. Sorry. My post assumed a familiarity with a normal clutch feel/sound.

My apologies to the hoards of n00bs who might be misled.
