Default Thinking about this whole Forge Bypass Valve stuff... (mediumish)

I was really ticked when the second set started to stick. That being said, I was really happy with the treatment from Pete @ Strat (thanks again Pete). Now Forge has finally shipped out the fix for the valves to their distributors and they thank us for our patience. Now, I know I was at the tail end of the bad batch and my problem was first discovered over a month ago. What if I did not keep my stock valves? Conventional thinking says to always keep the stock parts, but what if you didn't? Driving around with stuck valves for two plus months?? F that! I'm sorry but, driving this car for 2 months w/o low end torque would suck tremendous amounts of ***. Again, sorry for the 4 year old comment, but let's face it, it really would suck. Buying a performance product and ending up with worse performance is so disconcerting. I would expect more than sorry and thanks for your patience.

I'm going to get an exhaust, its just a matter of time. After reading Don P's review, the Forge sounded like a very good option for me. But now I have to wonder about taking that chance. For $1,200, the thought of problems should not even be present in the decision making process. It was a tolerance issue that caused the valves to stick. I think it would be logical to assume a tolerance issue would really screw up an exhaust, yes? Am I totally off here folks? Am I being too harsh?

Air just flows out of an exhaust. Nothing should get "stuck"

What if tolerance is blown? If heat causes the exhaust to expand, Houston we have a problem!

Default Love my Forge/Milltek exhaust... still waitin' on replacement valves tho :-(

I had broken my OEM Bosch BPV's, so I bought Bosch 110 BPV's rather than drive with the faulty Forge's.

Forge teamed up with Milltek to produce the exhaust... Milltek also happens to produce the MTM exhaust, so I think you'll be pretty safe with that one IMHO.

Default You are totally right to be irritated

You are totally right to be irritated with the situation. No matter how great Strat is to deal with, whatever, the fact is that you were sold a product promising one thing (increased performance/reliability) and that delivered the opposite (decreased performance/reliability). That just sucks, no matter how you look at it.
