Thinking Of Buying 2000 S4

Hi everyone. I have been lurking on the site for about a week now. I am need of a few answers, hopefully you can all help me out.

So the time has come for me to make an upgrade. I have found an S4 with low mileage and at a very good price (In my opinion).

I was just wondering if there was anything in specific I should look for before I purchase it. For example, any common problems etc.

***NOTE*** I live in Toronto, ON, Canada. I do not know of the differences from the American version and the Canadian version, if any. This is why I cam here.

Thanks for any help. I hope to be an Audi driver soon.

Have you searched the archives? Yours is an incredibly common question.

I have, and found a few things. I guess my major question at hand now would be, what are the major differences of the Candian model VS American model, if any?

I know for instance on my current car, there are a ton of options unavailable in the US.

like what? non-xenon headlights?

Is it true that canadian S4s don't have xenon headlights? That would be a plus in some US cities!

Buying a S4 is very similar to buying any other used car. Look for shop records and general condition. You also need to decide if you want one with a warranty.

I've had mine since last March and have already replaced the $1k ABS unit. The airbag light is on, which means I probably need a new airbag control unit. I bought my car out of warranty because I planned on going stage 3. If you have no such plans I advise getting one certified with some sort of warranty.

I have no problem fixing what breaks. The car really is a blast to drive!

Also, no fog lights on Canada model AFAIK
