I plan on getting a roof rack for my snowboard and Im afraid that I will leave scratches on the roof since Im only having it on during the winter time.
What kind of rack do you guys recommend.
If possible, can you post pics.
Have a good holiday.
TIA

None here, just be sure the area where the pads touch is CLEAN before you install.
I take my rack on and off quite a bit (easy), so I'll just grab the Quickdetail to make sure there's no grit to be rubbed around underneath the pad.

i do NOT believe there exists a rack which contacts painted surfaces that will NOT leave marks
this is one of the main reasons i bought an avant.
it might not scratch. but it will almost certainly leave a lasting mark. the yakima on my SVT left pad shaped hazy marks after just one winter. yes it certainly WAS torqued down correctly and of the correct fitment.
they came out most of the way after a fairly rigorous 3 step buffing/polishing process. clear coat wouldn't have lasted through 3 years of that...
here is mine:

I just bought a Thule...it's sitting in my living room. Came highly recommended.
Rubber feet on it, so I wouldn't expect it to scratch anything, but I would guess it might leave some hazy marks or something. A friend of mine put some clearbra type stuff under the feet on his GTI, and it seems to have prevented any sort of discoloration; I am going to do the same.
Don't know why I care so much, there are already a couple scuffs on the roof, and rock chips on the hood...car's getting beat up over time.
