Default Tie Rods - Anyone replace their inner and outer Tie Rods?

So my alignment is off and the tech who was doing the alignment on my car said the tie rods are rusted and won't get loose. He sprayed them and torched them with no luck. So now I need to replace both inner and outer tie rods.

I found a DIY but it's only for the outer and I can't find out how to get the inner tie rods out. The dust boot covers it.

Anyone got any DIY links or can tell me?

Default There is a one time clamp on the steering rack side of the dust boot

get that off. Then compress the clamp on the TRE side of the boot. You should be able to pull the boot foward (towards you). Might take a bit of work and you might need a small flat blade screwdriver to pry at the boot, but with those two clamps off the boot will eventually come loose.

Once you get boot off (although you wont be able to completely remove the boot since your TRE is siezed on there), you'll be able to get an open end wrench or adjustable wrench on the hex end. You can see it in the pic above - its got the blue plastic thing stuck to it. Just turn that (you'll probably have to put alot of *** into it) and that will take the whole inner TRE off.

Reuse the outer clamp on the dust boot. For the inner clampe I just used a zip tie. It's been fine like that for 15k miles so far...

I'd recommend sourcing the parts from PureMS rather than ECS, fwiw

will save you the cost of another alignment, but will cost you the time and cost of parts

Default not that i could see. they are hidden by the dust boot, and felt a "little" loose,
