Default tint

I want to tint the windows of my new S4, but I don't know very much about tint.

Any Suggestions?

Anyone know a good place to get the job done in the Irving/Dallas area?

Default You might look into 3M Tint

I just got 35% 3M Metallic Panther Black ScotchTint. My suggestion (since I am from Miami) is to go to Yahoo, punch in your home address in the "Map" area and then search for nearby businesses under "Automobile" for "tint". You should get a list of shops and how far they are from your home. You can then call them and see if they do 3M (or whatever you decide to go with). I went with 3M because of their brand name history and their EXCELLENT nationwide product guarantee.

FYI - Since you said you don't know much about tint let me make one suggestion: ONLY GO WITH METALLIC! Not only does it cool better but it isn't prone to peeling, bubbling, or that god-awful purple discoloration. Also, the lower the percentage, the darker the tint. For example, 25% is darker than 35%. Make sure you confirm what's legal in your area. Most shops can also throw a sample piece on your window. It will look darker when the job is done (less light in = less light out).

Good luck! Maybe someone from your area will respond with a specific shop name.

The manuf. is Llumar. They make really great stuff, highly reccomend it.

BTW, the wheels are photoshopped in, thats why it may look a little weird.

Default I assume you don't ever drive at night -- that's pretty dark...

...and I thought my 28% tint (35% legal by the letter of the law) was almost too dark.

Default Yeah, I do drive at night. Its not as bad as you think!

I can back out of my garage just fine and have no problems whatso ever on the roads. Im really surprised myself.

Im assuming it looks the way it is because of the onyx interior making it look darker than it really is. I have the exact same tinting on my Celica and you can see through it. Really weird optical illusion.
