Default Tip Chip Questions

Now that I'm getting used to my ABT chip I'm ready to add the Tip Chip. What are the general opinions from people who have this chip? Is there still two versions, racing and other? How come AWE's order page says you need to send in your ECU (and shows what looks like a circuit board) but the tech note on this site shows a complete ECU with the AWE sticker on it?
Thanks in advance.

Default The tip chip is well worth it, especially if longevity ofyour tranny is a must the ecu looks like..

your engine one. I got mine from dynospot racing. Its not a difference you would notice unless you drive the car everyday.

Default Tip Chip Group Buy?

Anyone interested? Has there been one recently (ever)? What would you pay? The retail is $400.

Default Re: Tip Chip Group Buy?

I'd be in. You get 'em for $300 if bought with the ECU, but I'm set with my Abt/AMS...So as far as I'm concerend anything less than $400 is good :-)

No idea if anyone has ever done a GB for this before..pretty sure they haven't in the last 6-8 months at least..

You're willing to look into it?

Default Use the VAG and change....

the code under transmission from 000002 to 000022. That well make you hold first gear longer, and with the tip chip is what you want.

Default I'll email AWE...

I helped setup the VAG COM group buy about 4 months ago, doesn't take much more then a few emails. Keep in mind some manfufacturers don't allow their products to be discounted, but since AWE already does the $100 off when you buy the engine ECU I'm hopeful we can negotiate something. We will probably need 10+ people.
