Toluene - very nice...
I know you've all heard/done this before but I got bored over the weekend and dumped 2 gallons of Toluene into my near-empty tank and then added 2 gallons of 91 craptane pump gas. The gas gauge read a bit less than 1/2 tank after this process so I had roughly 95 octane(1/2 tank = 7 gallons so I had about 6 total, so [(2*104)+(4*91)]/6= about 95.)
After about 15 miles of mixed city/hwy driving I got on it and notice a nice bump in power. I didn't have time to do logs - I'll do that this week before the gas runs out...but I did notice changes in boost (via my Omori gauge). The spikes weren't any different but it maintained higher boost pressures than I normally see...16-18psi versus 14-16psi (air temps, pressure being equal). My guess is that the computer is able to advance timing and higher boost can follow suit. The logs will tell all.
Of course, you already knew this. Just thought I post another example. Be careful with the Toluene, though...toxic shiznit.

if you're volumes are right, you were closer to 99 aki. toluene is 114, iirc.

Alright, I'm an idiot. I thought Toluene was 104 octane. My bad. Well, so I had
99 octane instead!
My original intent was to hit about 95 octane since I had seen some posts arguing that AMS doesn't adapt well above 95-97 octane. I'll log and see.

Not "increasing" boost per se....
Here's what I think might be happening. Under normal circumstances when I have 91 craptane in the tank I think the computer has to retard timing and reduce boost. So, the timing and boost are below what they "should" be. When I increase the octane I'm guessing that the computer can now advance timing and put boost back to where it "should" be.
When I have 91 octane I spike to 16-17psi and then hold around 15 psi and taper to 12 psi above 6k rpm. This is a bit lower than people with 93 octane see (19psi spikes, 16-17psi for most of the power range, then taper to 13psi or so).
