Rankings are based on numbers of vehicles stolen as a share of the area's population, not the total number of vehicle thefts overall.

Interesting, but I'd like to see it based on whole metropolitan areas or states maybe.
And a list including total vehicles stolen, perhaps organized by type of car, would be interesting. NYC/NNJ has GOT to be up there.

for luxury vehicle thefts I would bet it's #1
keep in mind the most stolen cars according to recent lists included early 90's toyotas etc etc
we need a more specific list to see how bad it really is in NJ
