Total Audi Newb needs some general help...I want to buy an S4!!!!
As the title states, I'm a total newb when it comes to Audi's...BMW's I know, Audi and turbo's - I'm clueless.
So I've been surfing the classifieds, and you get cars all over the board...mileage, modifications, etc. I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Any help here is much appreciated...
Now after cruising these boards for a few long days, I've got a few general questions:
1. F pipes?
2. H and M Box differences?
3. Chiped reliablity..I won't even dare to ask which one is best - I know better!!
4. Is over 30k considered "hi mileage"
5. Overall car realiability?
6. It's a silly question please don't flame as it will be a part commuter car...what about fuel economy?
Also which year would be deemed more desirable? From what I understand, there is a turbo difference between the early model runs and the newer, also traction control if I'm not mistaken?
Please help me out, as I need to make some fairly quick decisions.
TIA - I'm driving one of those imports from the other side of the pond, and that "scene" is killing me...I gotta go German.

Well
fuel economy do not go hand in hand with performance sedan so I'll leave it there. I will say that I get around 17-19MPG.
Try not to get an early S with the F-hose. Anything with a 10 00 build date or later should be okay.
I have no idea about Box differences.
I would not consider 30K to be high mileage, but that is just an opinion.
The car is very reliable, as with any machine if you push it too hard it'll die.

Permit me to help as I know my chiznatch (that ones for Mike S :)
... later model is always a good start. Something along the lines of a 2001.5 build (started I believe in 09/00).
Low miles ofcourse and fac warrenty.
Do a carfax report to avoid what happened to a fellow S-er as the best defense/offense is knowledge.
I'm preachin? What!!! You mean I'm sounding like my mom! Can think of no one better to emulate

http://www.kbb.com</a
