I read somewhere that Audi quoted the 2.7T at 1800kg...
Towing a glider doesn't sound like a good idea at all, but I guess you'd know more about it than me.

Somebody here just posted a few days ago about towing an S4 with an Allroad 2.7T. I'd imagine the
tow capacity on even the B5 S4 would be quite high, if the Allroad could do it.

I tow a 2 motorcycle trailer all the time..about 1300lbs
No problems at all. I just ran to N Mex from Houston last week with the trailer and bikes. Smooth and trouble free. 80 Mph speed limit in W Texas did cut my mileage a bit (19.9mpg) but the S4 did run fine the whole trip. I pulled a 4x6 foot U Haul full of furiture out to N Mex last year, also no problems.
I think Audi would rate our cars at 1500lbs for towing.
