Trick for doing your own spark plug install, and pics of my plugs <note added>

It's getting that time that more and more people should be doing their plugs. The process appears to be quite straight forward due to some really nice write ups from folks.

Something they don't mention is getting to the 10mm bolt under the upper IC pipe. I didn't want to remove that pipe (shouldn't have to and you don't). Instead I undid the retaining 10mm and pulled up on the upper half of the IC pipe. It came right out of the lower piping as pictures show and gives you plenty of room to get the 10mm bolt out!! Very easy. However you should first try with a nice box end wrench. I could not get anything in there to bite enough, so had to use the above method.

And here are my plugs, a slight reddish color and no, no octane booster. Nice solid fuel smell, but I think they are pretty clean for 24K..

The gap on the stock plug looks huge, I can't think that's good especially for our crap gas that we have out here!

Changing them to the Bosch 1 range colder plugs. Part number is all over the forum..

I'm not done yet... Plus I wanted to see what they looked like.
 

I also feel with the crap gasoline we have here and the increased boost the .30 gap on my stock plugs might be a wee big with the mods. So I went smaller gap.

I also as I posted numerous times, mis like a blind man at batting practice and lobe back and forth like a drunken sailor. So I went ahead and got a colder plug, which I feel is necessary when running more boost. And to the fact that I'm running more boost on crappy gas ,I'm creating even higher engine temps. A colder plug simply has a better ability to cool itself. So while my plugs still look okay, I'm not one to wait until I have a serious problem before I change/fix/enhance something.
