I have some trouble downshifting into second and first - the synchros don't, and I have to rev-match. I've seen reports here of this problem, and people who got replacement transmissions, but Audi has not yet published a TSB on the problem.

My dealer says his AoA DSM told him there is no American TSB, but there is a German TSB that says to replace the synthetic transmission fluid with a pricey-but-better mineral oil-based fluid that prevents binding in the synchro. Audi will pay for this, so I'm certainly not going to turn it down, but I don't believe this is the problem.

Does anyone have written materials from Audi that would explain the real issue and what needs replacing, or maybe a contact at AoA that knows?
