Okay, so this is more <i>can-you-guess-RobO's-theory-as-to-why-something-is-the-way-it-is</i> than trivia ... but what the hell. : )
Many of you have likely noticed that 2000 and early 2001 models which shipped with the old S-badges have the S4 logo on the <b>speedometer</b>; while on new S-badge models the logo is on the <b>tach</b>. I often wondered why this was ... and think I have come up with the answer.

i hate directions...
becuase the old A4's (and non US S4's) had analog clocks on the Tach...
so you couldn't fit anything between the clock and the needle on the Tach.
Once they switched to digital display on the Tach, they probably never thought to move the logo.
The once they changed the S4 logo (to it's current abomination), they probably wanted to further differentiate the "old" S4 logo and new logo so they moved it over.
