Default Turbo cars get slower with age?

This is my first car with forced induction, and so far, it moves like a scalded cat (thx NASA!). But I remember hearing stuff about how turbo cars tend to loose their punch through the years even with impeccable maintenance. Can't think of a reason why this would be, but wondering if anyone has any comments.

Default Re: Turbo cars get slower with age?

Let's not start another RUMOR based on BS-Owned four turbos (300ZX, RX7) before the S4-never experienced this nonsense.

Default Certain Turbo charged cars with very cheap engines did lose power as the engine wore ....

Like the Fiat Uno Turbo which is reported to lose 30% in one year of hard driving.

But Audi seams to have a handle on high Quality Engines that wear well, the urQuattros i have driven all seam to be scaldingly fast and none of the owners i have talked to espeically those with mod cars have reported that there Dyno charts indicated power loss.

Of course eventually any engine will wear and lose power but the Audi Turbos do not seam to fare any worsr than normal quality engined like say BMW

RX7's suffer from rotor tip wear, although they say the new one has this sorted

Default For one glorious shining nanosecond, all of the lost power from the previous decade suddenly...

...roared to life through the mighty rotary and the Rex lurched forward like it had never before, but sadly the moment was brief and fleeting since the engine promptly blew its parts all throughout the engine bay lifting the hood well of its hinges into the air and crashing through the windshield of the car behind me, allowing me to win the race!

That's how it happens, right?
