Turbo cooldown

Turbo cooldown
I was curious: Do the turbos actually rotate when sitting at idle? I'm curious to know what actually happens during a 2 min. cooldown that doesn't happen when the car is turned off?
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Turbo cooldown
while the car's idling, the oil & coolant is still being fully circulated, compared to turning the car off, the oil stops. Coolant has an afterrun pump, and under certain conditions will run for a while after the car's shut off, circulating coolant through the turbos. Idling the car for a couple minutes allows the turbos to cool a couple hundred degrees first. shutting down without cooldown can clog oil passages/feedlines and can restrict oil to the turbos, causing failure.....

Quit spreading lies!! You know that the turbos instantaneously stop from 10,000 rpm when you...
turn off the ignition. Also, the oil in the turbos is immediately evacuated, causing oil starvation the instant you turn your car off.
Oh, wait. I'm not in exile. :-P
