TURBO and UUC Shifter
I was talking to my friend the other day about installing a short shift kit on the S4 and he told me that is not a good idea because you need to give the turbos time to breath between shifts. That is the reason why shifting in the S4 is not just a simple short wrist action.
Now I don't know if this makes any sense but any input will be appreciated.

Turbos breathe? Huh?
A turbo is like a fan always jamming more air into the intake trak, it doesn't need time to breathe. Maybe he is talking about letting the blowoff valves open to dump the excess pressure back into the atmospheric side of turbo. When you close the throttle to shift, the pressure bounces off the throttle plate and backs up towards the turbo. When that gets to a certain pressure, the blowoff valves open and starts dumping pressure. Until you open the throttle again, then the blowoff valves close and business returns to normal. The faster you shift, the less the blow off valves have to stay open the faster your pressure builds up. ie less turbo lag.
