Two questions today: where to get silver touchup paint, and how are the side moldings fastened on?

Default Dealer $8 for paint and touch up.

Talk to Jimmy at Rojo Collision. He did a side molding removal job.

http://www.rojocollision.com</a

Default How easy to take off the side moldings (more)?

The reason I ask is that I may want to take off and modify the short side moldings just forward of the front doors. I recently added side badges (the old S4 style) and stuck them on those two pieces of molding. While some may laugh at them, I think they look great. But a friend of mine saw them and while he liked them too, remarked that it would be cool to have them embedded in the molding and as flush as possible. I thought that was such a great idea that I'm seriously thinking about it. All I'd have to do is take off those two little pieces and dremel an opening in each of the right size for the badge. So the only question is can those moldings be removed and replaced fairly easily, or do you end up damaging the fender panel somehow?

Thanks for the reply. I'll get touch up paint from the dealer. Also, see my reply above for more.

Default Easy!

You'll notice a pop rivet on the inner edge of the molding (tire well area). Drill that out with the appropriate drill bit. Push in on the bottom of the molding, whil pulling up at the same time. Done!
