Default Uh if you want a race car...put race car springs on...

Something equivalent to the corner weight will do...lets see...1200 pound springs on every corner would be about right.

Of course, that car will be a rattle trap and the chassis will flex badly and nobody will ever want to ride with you but hey...what kind of POS sedan has a little body roll?

Sorry, you have just been flamed. Don't take it too personally...your question just struck me as odd...you have to have suspension on a street car OR it is a race car, which do you want? A so/so track car and a POS street car or a nice street car which isn't an ideal race car?

Hint: Ideal race cars weigh less than 3000lbs.

I know...reduce to what though? Most setups have reasonable compliance built in?

Default have you seen my low rider yet? :)

Uhh, i'd ask you if you want to test it out, but...emmmm, urrr.... :-)

but yeah, i like reduced body roll that my suspension gives me, yet it's still complient on the road. It does get a littttle bit floaty now and then, but all in all the springs have settled and the ride is good.

Default no, I haven't seen your car since uh...

since we were pulling rocks out of the subframe.

I rode in Jyoteen's car and it was too harsh for me...but it's all to taste. I understand that many people want a more "sporty" ride because they don't get to go beat the f**k out of some poor Civic on a race track...

I was driving a crazy turbocharged V6 Jetta the other day and it was horrible...it was a chassis that was basically destroyed by the harsh suspension. There is a point where you trade a "firm" ride for a "rediculously harsh and chassis-damaging ride" and I hate to see people do this when for the cost of their suspension they could have a racing license.

I'm VERY cranky today though...we're at 27 days in the shop in the first 3 months of ownership and I want a S4 that RUNS!!!

Course...you'd know a thing or two about that too cheng?

Default not only that but when did "roll" have anything to do with handling?...

Usually when people tell me their car rolls too much I tell them to get a more supportive seat. The S4 doesn't have much roll compared to other cars and as you said...is this about getting faster lap times?

Driver/tires is 90% of lap time.

Car is 10%

When you're talking about tracking street cars.

Gets far more complicated with race cars but the S4 isn't one so it doesnt matter.

Default Yea, you can even make a FWD car go fast but...

to do it you have to basically kill the adhesion at the rear...make the car so stiff it lifts its inside wheel and use 850lb springs at the back of a 2000 pound car.

Who would do something like this to an S4?

when the car rolls too much it will ride on the side of the tires when corning which reduce traction

Default that has more to do with weight and geometry...

the camber changes and tire rolling is not directly related to body roll...keep in mind if you consider that the S4's weight distribution is ROUGHLY 60/40 and you take a loaded weight of 3850lbs...then get 60% of that = 2310lbs and half it = EACH FRONT WHEEL SUPPORTS 1155lbs of car AT REST.

Now take a banked turn at .99G (I have done this with a stock S4) and that's back to nearly 2300lbs ON THAT TIRE!

I would say it's damn near incredible that ONE TIRE on the S4 can support as much weight as the entire weight of my racing Civic if I put 300lbs of sand in it!
