Default UOA: Castrol Syntec 5W-40, 6350 miles from August to late December.

GC 0W-30 went in last week...We will see on the spring how it hled up..

Default I think GC 0W-30 is the better choice for the winter...

Interesting that it lost viscocity. M1 is known for doing this but not Syntec.

Default Agreed!! I think GC is fine for summer 2!

Over the course of this OCI I added 16oz of lube control which has about 20 wt viscosity so maybe that might have contributed to lower overall viscosity?

I love 0 bearing wear though :-))!!

nice report. I have my old UOAs in my pic poster. I run 7,500 mi between changes, with no problems.

oops forgot to add I typically use AMSOIL 5w40, 0w30 or M1 0w40

Default That probably explains it...

And I agree about GC in the summer though I feel more comfortable with M1 0W-40 in the summer and GC in the winter.
