UPDATE!!
Ok, so the battery was dead!! I came back to the car, and it wasn't even clicking anymore, just plain dead. So I jumped it and voila! BUT when I started it, the battery gage read 14 volts?? Is that normal for a battery that was dead a minute ago? ALSO, this is the second time my battery has died, and this is a BRAND NEW BATTERY!! I didn't drive for 2 days, but is that long enough for it to die on me?
I have an aftermarket amp in the trunk, and I have noticed that even with the car off, the light on the amp is on!! Is this why it keeps dying and if so what can I do?
THANKS A TON GUYS

well, I'm not an electronics guru, but...........I did stay at a Holidy Inn Express last night.....
and, maybe, just maybe you'll want to hook up that amp to a switched power source?

with the engine running, the gauge will read what the alternator puts onto the bus.
what does it say with the engine not running?
also, you will want to connect your amp to switched power, preferably via a relay (if the amp doesn't have one built in)
consult whoever installed your amp.

Re: UPDATE!!
hey guys, thanks for the advice! the stupid Tweeter people probably messed up my install and didn't hook the amp to a "switched" power source, because it definitely is on whether the car is on or not, and that must be draining the battery! thanks for the info

it never ceases to surprise me what a sh!tty job the "pros" do on installs
you have to be the biggest moron, to work as a pro installer and not know how to hook up the remote turn on lead. WTF?

Simple fix: turn-on lead to the amp is hooked up to constant power instead of switched power.
Take your audio jobs to a smaller independent shop next time. That was a bonehead move on their part.

indeed. you should SEE what they did to my roomie's excursion
INSANE that they tried to pawn that cr4p job off on him.
cut up the carpet while running wires. wires dangling below dash. pivot arm for front display attached to the CARPET, cracked dash panel, cracked center console... WTF?
unfortunately the best installers i've found are h00dz that sell all stolen stuff. but they do BANG up work for cheap or trade for illicit stuff.
of course i barely let people look at my car let alone futz with the wiring. so i'll do mine myself...

acquaintances of friends. did most of work for trade in illicit goods like i said.
but they are in a diff state. so it'd be hard for them to track the car down.
i agree it would be a def. risk though.
like those jersey alarm installers, etc.
and no. i wouldn't support people like that. this is a friend's car.
