Update on creaking steering wheel
I posted before, and apparently am not the only one with the problem. One person said their dealer hadn't been able to fix it, and another person said that WD-40 fixed it.
I mentioned it to my dealer at my 20K service and they're going to replace torn control arm bushings. They had to be special ordered, so I don't know if this will work or not, but just wanted to add another snippet of info on the matter.

Previous post

where to apply the WD-40....i sprayed it in between the steering wheel and the plastic bezel just
below the wheel, basicly inbetween the parts that spin and the parts that dont.....
if the wheel is creaking, then control arms and bushings are not the problem as they are WAY far away from the wheel....
i would think it is just the bearing and air bag connections getting a little "dry".... seems as that was by deal,
a service dept. cant charge AoA $1000 for wd40
though...

brought mine to the dealer twice for this problem. it turned out to be the spiral spring.
the squeeking sound was being emitted from the steering column within the cabin of the vehicle only when i turn the steering wheel to the right. my dilemma was not temperature sensitive.

Dealer replaced my entire column last week...
They had two tries at lubing the column from the rack to the steering wheel and it eventually failed.
Four hours of shop time later the column is replaced and the noise is gone.
