V1 Install Pix

V1 Install Pix
Yeah, Yeah, I know...this is old news...you guys are all experts at hardwiring a V1, but I'm not, so I thought I'd post these pix anyway!
This install was done on a Alex E's 2000 Pearl White S4.
The spade connector on the 'Direct-Wire Power Adapter' fits perfectly into the spot usually occupied by a fuse 'leg'. As per AW, I used spot#27 (Rear window wiper)
<img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_wireshooked.jpg">
FYI, the 'hot' side of this slot is the left side. The bolt below the fusebox provides a ground.
Removing the A-pillar is easy...lift up this cover, and use a T-25 to remove the one bolt. <img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_apillarbolt.jpg">
Then just pull the pillar cover off
<img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_apillaropen.jpg">
I ran the wire along the top of the bundle of wires you see here.
Once you figure out where you want the V1 to be, tuck the wire under the headliner, and pull the excess back into the fusebox area
<img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_inposition.jpg">
A couple of twist ties, and the everyting's neatly squared away
<img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_wirestuckedaway.jpg">
The end result:
<img src="http://www.jungle.net/soaresnj/audipix/v1_install/v1_inposition3.jpg">
Total install time? 20 minutes, including the time taken for Alex to decide where he wanted to mount the V1.

Just a thought, wouldn't it have been better to use a 3m connector
on a fused wire under the dash, then the circuit would have been protected?
Just thinking, maybe the V1 has an inline fuse?

damn, that wire comes down too far. And get rid of the EZPass it look ugly :)
I pull out the EZ Pass when near a toll and keep in in the arm rest compartment.
Can't you put the V1 above the rear view mirror. This would make it look cleaner, right?
I think my friend did this.
