V1 mounting question....
How many of you have mounted your V1 above the rearview mirror??
I got my V1 friday and installed it the car...i turned the mirror upside down and mounted the V1 above the mirror....i mounted it as close to the mirror as possible to avoid any obstruction from the roof or maplights....will this setup work well?? I havent had a chance to test it out yet as i have driven the car since the install....
if this location works out well, i'll go ahead and hardwire it in there...
TIA!!

your V1 actually looks higher than mine....does it work well up there??
for the mirror, get a small flathead and pop off the little cover on the black plastic thing that covers up the wire for the mirror...then you have to twist the base (counter clockwise) about 1/4 turn and the mirror will come off the mounting tab....then turn it upside and re-mount it...it looks kinda odd but i'll get used to it...
i havent tested out the auto dim yet but it should still work....its still wired up, and both sensors still have an unobstructed view...
i dont have any pics yet either...sorry

i'm not that ambitious...
...but i'm considering doing a similar install, at least similar to your display location.....
did you buy a spare for the piece you cut over the steering wheel or just use the original....if you bought a spare, what was the part number?? i always like to buy replacement parts to cut on before i trash my interior :-)
how much would you charge to do an install like that for me?? :-)

I cut into the original piece and I read here in AW that the piece costs $47. It snaps out by pulling toward you at the top edge and the cutout is made outside the car.
If you go back to my original post, there is a "construction details" down in the thread.
I appreciate the :-) with your last question. I'll do it for $5000, no problem.
