Waterford Hills better than Blackhawk Farms for 1st timer?
Heard Blackhawk is very tough on brakes. My brakes are stock right now (maybe 1/3 - 1/2 life left), though I'd consider buying a set of track pads.

Waterford's easy on brakes
a great first time track....
You'll really only push your brakes at the end of the straight - I would just take the straight a bit slower on alternating laps.

I've been to Waterford Hills several times and love it, never been to Blackhawk Farms
It's quite small, but so is Blackhawk Farms from what I've read online. I don't think you can really go wrong with either, but then again I've never been to Blackhawk Farms.
Also, stock brakes were just fine for me the first couple of times at Waterford Hills. You have to be making serious power to get into triple digits on the back straightaway.

Blackhawk tends to be hard on brakes b/c there isn't enough time to cool them down between uses
but it's a fun little track. My first even was there on stock brakes - didn't have any issues. Probably cuz I wasn't going very fast.
