Default Well, I dunno if you guys remember me posting about getting rid of the S4. I couldn't do it. Just

didn't have the heart. I love it too much. I was going to trade it in on a MazdaSpeed3 or Civic Si, but after test driving them I said fvck it. So now I'm getting a new Hyundai Elantra GLS (w/ some nice options) for $14,000 to drive on my long commute back and forth to work. I'm planning to keep it for years and years and drive it into the ground.

This makes the S4 my 2nd car. So now I can take my time with repairs, do most everything myself even if it takes a few days, etc. So the S will be staying with me for at least another few years if not longer. WOOHOO!

the original post, where many of you helped convince me to keep the S

Default excellent news - the S is a perfect 2nd car

part of what makes this car so frustrating sometimes is the fact that it is the only car for a lot of us, and fixing things is just so damn inconvenient when we need it to be running to get around.

Great choice. I have a beater for a 2nd car. Makes you appreciate the Audi that much more.

i'm in the same boat, it's just weird to think of having an Audi S4 as a "second" car

Default Cool. I had such a hard time finding something I would replace the S with I just said forget it.

The only thing that really sparked my interest is the RS4, S6, A64.2, M3 sedan, 535i, and the upcoming C63 AMG. All of them are way higher in price than what I paid for my S brand new.

After checking out all those cars (except for the C63) I think I kind of like the roominess of a bigger car and when the time comes I'll probably be looking at something bigger like the S6 or 535i.

Good move! - I'd had similar thoughts, but realized I'd miss the S4 so I kept it!
