Welp, just placed my order...
The dealer offered to change the specs on a car already in the pipe due in late Nov.
Hibiscus Red w/Onyx/Silver, Tip, PAW, PBS, PCX, 7A2. MSRP 41,400 will get $1500 off as I'm a current owner of a 99 1.8T bought from them.
This car will be the twin to my current car, so I won't feel to guilty about swapping so soon, maybe some will never notice ;-)

99 1.8T Tip/Sport/Wett/Bose etc---for sale 22k miles, 25k obo

Tiptronic delivery
Mike:
I am #1 on the S4 Tiptronic list at my dealer (ordered in May). Back in June, delivery was originally going to be delayed after six speeds (i.e., late Fall-early Winter), then I was promised late September-Middle of October.
As of this week, I was told mid-late December deliver on my car. Hope your information is better than mine. Please let me know what you were told.
Thanks,
Reed

Can't really say. We are just switching the specs on a car...
You are probably right cuz you've obviously been following this for some time. I've seen sources that I can't recall right now stating Nov. delivery, oh well... I'm not going to get too anxious cuz my 1.8 is still great fun to drive.

Getting by with an '84 4000 Quattro until my S4 comes in
Mike:
Yeah, I'm surviving with my '84 Quattro until my S4 gets delivered. I bought it new in January of '84 (and had to pay MSRP for it to get one of the first ones in the USA! Some things never change.). It was phenomenal then and is still a great car with 104,000 miles on it.
After almost 16 years, however, I want MORE POWER, particularly turbo-charged power for driving in the mountains of Colorado.
What's your opinion of the 1.8? I almost bought one, then heard about the S4.
