Study the pathology of these two accidents and think about what they have in common.
In BOTH cases the drivers overcooked the ENTRANCE to the turn...then induced understeer and hit the brakes and crashed. Completely rookie manouvers but even worse, they demonstrate the prevalent and INCORRECT assumption that "driving fast" means jamming a car INTO a turn as fast as possible.
Folks..PLEASE go through some high performance training. Not only is the optimum speed and technique NOT about getting the car into a turn as fast as possible but it's also stupidly dangerous. These drivers were over their heads and the fact that they locked their brakes long before they were anywhere NEAR any sort of apex shows just how unprepared they were to drive as fast as their speedos were indicating.
I'm going to be preachy for a while because nobody here was born knowing how to do this any more than they know how to fly a plane. Having the car settled and UNDER CONTROL before turn in is VITAL. Losing it on the exit shows a turn that was taken too fast...a car that is crashed before it even got INTO the turn shows a driver with NO TRAINING. There are more inexpensive ways to learn high-performance driving than ever in HISTORY and many of them are available to you using your own car AND WITHIN YOUR INSURANCE policies!
You'll enjoy your car more, you'll be safer AND you'll be faster.

after the display of Fast and Furious wanna be leaving the parking lot, I KNEW this deal was going to end up with people crashing and getting tickets.
You know...it's possible to enjoy a car without running it out to redline in every gear.
