What capacity floor jack do I need for tire & brake work only? Thx.

I have a 1.5 Ton jack. Just remember the car weighs around 3600lbs but you aren't lifting all of it

probably a 1-1.5 ton would suffice, all you are doing is lifting a corner then setting stands
 

I have a craftsmen 3 ton heavy bastard, then a 1.5 ton aluminum I take to the track. Both lift the car fine just fine, high enough to put stands under and do brakes.
