Yeah, the military has you over a barrel because they make you sign to stay or go approx. 1 year out. If you decide to go then, as you said, you have to find a job. Nobody wants to hire you that far out and in the mean time you are scared ****less about being unemployed.
I had 50 days terminal leave where I just sat home and job searched.
I have a friend that worked as a recruiter for Bradley-Morris for a few years. He was making good money until they moved him to the aisian division. In the US he did well recruiting.
When I left I was ready to go. I wanted to move on...

yes, there are plenty of gov't jobs out there, the usajobs website has a bunch
none i've found i'm interested in, since I am a Career Retention Specialist (basically a recruiter, only I try to sell these guys something they already know sucks... hahaha) so, I was thinking of getting a job somewhere with a Job Placement Company
