HREs seem to have fallen out of favor here. STFA for recent discussion.

Default HRE's...although Kinesis are really nice also...(long)

I ordered a set of 543R earlier this year, the offset came in to aggressive(et27) so I sent them back, after alot of back and forth they finally said 543R's with et 38-40 could not be made in 18x8.5. They could make the 4R series or 8R series, finally decided on the 843R in 18x8.5.long story short HRE's customer service was awesome they really helped me out and also rushed my order through.lastly the difference between the R and nonR is that the R is a straight lip design and much nicer(IMO)vs the non R is a stepped lip design, in same diameter it makes the rim look smaller.check pic poster for some pics.

Default the R is similar to Kinesis' "Reverse Drop Center" which uses a

larger center section which makes the wheel appear a little bigger.
