What do you guys think about the Mini Cooper S?

The thought crosses my mind occasionally.
It's fun, economical, and inexpensive.
I test drove the base Mini and liked it overall. But two things: It just has too little usable space (especially compared to my Avant) for my needs, and the power of the S4 (even stock like mine) is very hard to give up.
Here are some random observations from my test drive:
1) First gear allows for decent starting acceleration, but you hit a huge flat spot in power when you shift into second. I'd miss the kick that second gear has in the S4.
2) I accelerated from the left turn lane at a light and traction control kicked in big time. This is usually one of the times I like to have fun with Quattro.
3) I tried out the Mini at night and the headlights were inadequate. It was like being back in my non-xenon A4 when it came to night time illumination (this is bad.)
I'm sure the Mini Cooper S would be more enjoyable than the base Mini, but I definitely think of the Mini as a nice fun second car, rather than a great primary vehicle.

WHen you say stalling problem
I am assuming you mean when you first start the car. This is fixed by taking it to the dealer and having them reflash the ecu. Mine has had all the problems with the first built Mini S since I got it like a week after it came out.
