What exactly "breaks" in an MAF sensor? Is it possible to fix one that is giving low readings?

Default What exactly "breaks" in an MAF sensor? Is it possible to fix one that is giving low readings?

Just wondering before I order one of the rebuilt ones from ECS.

Default Bosch MAFs have a flat surface thermal sensor that gives faulty signals when it gets dirty. --->
