Price drop on the AOA B5 S4 that is.

I am thinking about waiting till October in hopes of a better deal. Right now they are for $37k USD (27k US) from the local dealer and that is with a 24 month warranty and 50k KM on them. Think I will see a 2-3k price drop (CDN) ?

Default I don't think the B6 S4 being available is going to...

make the value of the B5 S4 depreciate any more or less. I think it'll just continue depreciating at a normal rate...

Default Won't be much of any change...

I've seen you ask this before, I say you stop waiting and get one now!

Completely different buying markets:

V8 vs. Turbo.
Brand New vs. Used.
Expensive vs. Cheaper Bargain.
Lease vs. Finance.
No Mods vs. Mod Crazy.

Even if all the people who have B5 S4s with leases return their cars, the dealers and wholesalers won't reduce the price. You can get some for cheap with no warranty, but the B5 S4 is definitely not a car that I want to buy without a warranty. Also, the lower priced cars will all be 2000 A-box ECUs from what I've seen.

Good luck.

Default It'll probably raise prices...

New S4 is $10k to $13k more than the new B5 S4 was... they're two very different cars and the new one is in a totally different class.

$25k is a pretty big chunk of change for someone to upgrade their 2001 to a 2004 S4, for very little gain. Some people will do it, but not as many as people probably thought a year ago.

Used prices will probably rise a bit because wanna-be S4 owners will realize they can't just pony up a bit more cash to get a new S4... since you can almost buy two B5's for what a B6 costs.
