What kind of 1/4 times should I expect from APR Stage 1 chip...

13:60 - 13:80. Depending on how hard you get out of the hole.
I went 13:62 in mine with a passenger. Stock exhaust.
The APR street chip won't run as hard as some of the other street chips. However, the race program is a no-holds-bar throw down chip made to rock and roll. You should look into it; and a set of downpipes

True. Do you know exactly what they did?
I'm going to need to download their new software and try it out. Unless they performed some miracle, I'll probably switch to an ABT chip from AMS by the end of the summer.

Don't know exactly, but it's creating 8+ more ponies w/ the 93 program.
I'm sure it's comparable in gain w/ the 91 program as well. They just optimized the timing to correspond to the differences in the compression/combustion of the diff. octane fuels.
I've noticed a bit more pull up top, and thicker midrange. Apparently, there is a prototype program they are working on, too, which should be good for 1.2 bar, in direct competition w/ the X-chip. I bet I'll notice more gains when my dp's go on next week
The Abt chip is smooth. I wouldn't blame you if you switched over. Hell, I'd be tempted if I wasn't so close to APR, and if i wasn't convinced of their engineering prowess.

with the old program or the new program?
I am living testimony that the APR chip I used was 3 tenth of a second faster than no chip at all. Which is pretty much driver dependent. It just pulls harder on the bottom than it does up top. But like Pat said, with race gas, that chip pulls to no ends.
Great chip for everyday driving without beating up your car. Just dont get too eager to race a mustang that pulls up to you and starts reving.. Just give him your german vs POS bull****ting =)

thanks Dukar...
I already perfected that look since I get alot of posers try to egg me on in daily driver ('99 Lightning, 13.30 in the 1/4). I pretty much don't bother anymore just a waste of gas on the crowded streets of Memphis.

Thanks Pat....
The car I'm looking at buying has the APR stage 1 with EMCS so maybe he's got the race program. Doesn't that EMCS hold 4 programs? I really just want it fun and ABSOLUTELY NO PINGING...ever. I'm really not that fond of chips but the only experience I've ever had is with Fords (Mustangs and currently '99 Lightning) so I know the Audi will be different.

Dukar, one more thing please?
The car I'm looking at is stock except for chip. May do exhaust later but should I do BPV's and/or downpipes right away. It's an '01 with 12k miles.
Thanks.
Thanks.
